Chocolate covered fortune cookies are such a simple and fun treat for Diwali! I wanted to include them in our Diwali Cookie Box because they are interactive. My favourite part of dinner at our local Indo-Chinese place is always when everyone reads their fortunes. We laugh at how improbable some of them are, and then we nod and exchange knowing glances when they are right. Fortune cookies are just so much fun, and when dipped in coloured chocolate so pretty too. These cookie hack was one of the easiest hacks I’ve ever done.

- 1 Box of fortune cookies (24 cookies)
- Chocolate melts in various colours – I used about a third of a bag each of pink, purple, and white melts.
In a bowl, microwave the chocolate in batches. Use a low power setting and heat at 1-minute intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted. I did about 1/3 of each colour at a time so that it wouldn’t dry out and harden as I worked.
Lay out a sheet of parchment paper on a flat work surface. Dip the rounded end of a cookie into the chocolate to coat. Let any excess chocolate drip off the cookie and back into the bowl; transfer to the dipped cookies to the parchment. Repeat with a few cookies at a time and add sprinkles before the chocolate sets. Repeat with remaining cookies, chocolate colours, and sprinkles. Let stand until the chocolate sets – about 20 minutes.
PS: Have you seen the other cookies in our Diwali Cookie Box series?
