Chai Chat: How to Celebrate Holi at Any Time of the Year!

In this week’s Chai Chat I’m sharing tips on celebrating the spirit of Holi at any time of the year! Inspired by the trend of ‘colour runs’ where runners are greeted with an explosion of coloured powder at the finish line, I wanted to be able to recreate the ‘masti’ of Holi any day of the year.

In the video below I’m sharing 5 ideas for bringing the spirit of the festival into your home and soaking up the last few weeks of summer.

{This video is the first in a series I’ve produced in collaboration with Tea India and focuses on finding some me time and bringing an Indian touch to the everyday – I really hope you enjoy them!}

If you’ve grown up celebrating Holi it may seem strange and out of place to play with colours in September, but it’s actually a great way to bring closure to the summer and welcome fall. Plus festival season and Diwali will be here before we know it so it’s like a warm up, or a pre-party even! If you still aren’t convinced, don’t think of it as celebrating ‘Holi’, just think of it as a big colourful party with lots of iced chai.

Speaking of iced chai, I used a cheat method of making mine in the video, but the expert mixologist at Tea India shared this recipe with me for a perfect iced chai every time:

1. Mix 1 packet of Tea India Chai Moments in 3 oz hot water thoroughly. Pour over 3 oz of ice.
2. Mix 1 to 2 oz of milk as per taste
3. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed the video and would love to hear your feedback. Also if you have any ideas or suggestions yfor future Chai Chats feel free to leave a comment, or tweet me @pinkchai.

This video was brought to you by Tea India. You can connect with Tea India on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to learn more about their Chai Moments products. (Cardamom is my favourite flavour!)
