If you been hanging out with me online for a while, you’ll know that I love tulips almost as much as I love shameless selfies. So every spring I plan a day out to a local tulip field with my friend (and fabulous photographer) Aziz and pose like a wannabe Bollywood starlet. See I’m a good friend like that, if you have a skill, I’ll totally exploit it.
A few years ago we visited Roozengarde in Washington, and last year we visited the inaugural Abbotsford Tulip Festival. This year the plan was to go out to Portland, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen due to work commitments so we went back to the Abbotsford Festival – Bloom. It was really pretty, and totally worth taking a day out, and the admission cost. Just one thing, if you are going out there, follow the directions they give on their website, not what Google Maps tells you. It’s the only way to avoid serious traffic!
I’m not even going to try to tell you about the festival, because Aziz’s pictures pretty much cover it a thousand times better than I could explain it. If you want some tips on planning a photo shoot at the tulip fields, scroll to the bottom of the post for my latest video

We got there super early in the morning and there was still dew drops on the tulips – just breathtaking!
And of course, once we caught our breath from the amazing view, it was time to get down to the business of posing. This year, I went with a yellow kurti and skinny jeans, a little departure from my usual choice for the tulip fields – white or cream.
You knew there had to be at least one Bollywood shot right?
Still need a little more tulip field action? Here’s that video I promised you:
